About Woolshed

 

Woolshed is a fully operational e-commerce website and business specializing in hand knitted Childrens wear. The website was set up due to sales of popular hand knitted hats and mittens that sold in breezy stores, a shop I ran for 5 years in Crouch End, N8.

Lovely ladies that I know in Yorkshire would knit their designs and post them down to the shop and they would sell really well.

 

In 2004 when I decided to sell the shop, I really didn’t want to loose my connection with my fabulous knitters.

 

So I set up the website from home and started designing my own knitwear.

I asked the ladies to carry on knitting and gradually we had at one point 100 ladies from all around the British Isles knitting.

 

The site became very popular and sales increased. To coincide with the website and to get the Woolshed name out there.

 

I did many trade shows to sell our products to the trade, including: Country Living, Pulse, Top Drawer, ELDS, and many other smaller craft and designer fairs.

 

I took a lot of orders and we sold to big names inc. Fenwicks and the V & A shop as well as well known nationwide childrens clothes shops and homeware stores.

 

I believe with Woolshed I discovered a niche and individual style that was appreciated by other designers, stylists and customers.

 

Woolshed combined traditionalism with up to date fashion, whilst keeping a classic thread throughout.

 

I always use the best quality yarn that I know children will be happy to wear, that has no itch and is robust and soft, as well as machine washable.

By transferring the company, I hope that the new directors will want to keep the Woolshed going at its full potential.

The website is easy to manage and has a web designer and photographer to hand if needed. All the knitters are available and pattern writers. I am happy to be on hand for a period of time to help assist a smoothtransition. I would also be happy with the possibility of staying on as designer or colour predictor as an other option if this suited your needs.

The future of the business is full with creative potential, from knitting books to factory manufacture.

I have traffic figures for the business as well as financial summaries.

Woolshed is a top search engine business in the childrens knitwear field.

It has given a lot of people pleasure in the past, happy customers and happy knitters.
